The Sky is Everywhere.
I started reading it, and to be honest, I don’t want to continue. The girl is super sex deprived and that’s all she talks about. However, every single post on Tumblr about this book has been positive and all “oh, I loved it!” that I’ve decided to continue. Hope it’s worth it though.

So, I’ve been thinking why can’t I be truthful.

I wasn’t sure, but I think that I’m a different person to others than to myself. Of course, everyone will be that way to some sort of degree. But, in my case, it’s like a different person. A change of 180 degrees. 

Outside, my friends see me as fun, nice, appealing, whatever. Ok, that sounds super arrogant. But, the point is, as someone that’s fun to hang out with and talk. 

They’re flattering me. Inside, I can see myself how I truly am. Dishonest. Grumpy. Selfish. Moody. Lonely. 

And I wonder, why can’t I tell my friends how I am, how I feel. First thought that came to my mind, as did to you perhaps, is that I’m afraid that they won’t like me anymore. I mean, who in their right mind would like someone as rotten as I am, and that has been lying this whole time!

But then, I realized, it’s not that. I might not be likable, but I truly am the kind of person that doesn’t care about what others think. The reason behind my dishonesty was myself.

I didn’t dare say my thoughts at loud, and make others look at me how I truly am. Because I was afraid that, if it happened, it might become the irreversible truth. To say it at loud, not just in my head, would be the final blow. After the hit, I wouldn’t be able to deny it anymore. I wouldn’t be able to pretend otherwise. 

Now, by writing it instead of saying it at loud, I have taken a small step forward. Writing it, although a lot more soothing than saying it, it has brought me to reality. Which I had been afraid of. But now, ironically enough, I feel relieved.

Who knew how comfortable the truth could be?

Day 8: The character you are most like

I’ll award this one to… Haymitch. Not that I’m drunk or anything, but in the part that he cares about others even if no one realizes it. Also how he is bright, but acts before he thinks about what consequences his actions might bring, like the death of everyone he loved after he brilliant stunt during his Games. Haymitch conceals his feelings behind a bottle, and not many people know his true side.

It’s a lonely and hard life, but if you find those who understand you, they will become your dearest ones.

Day 6: A scene that made you laugh.

Finnick’s and Katniss’s first meeting.

That first meeting, although seemingly light and funny, was important. It was were you could define the line between the Capitol-made Finnick, and the real Finnick. The difference between the good-looking but empty-headed guy seducing Katniss with a sugar cube, and the passionate, Tribute that never stopped loving Annie even when being forced to sleep with other women. 

Don’t get me wrong, I still had fun picturing Finnick as a sexy god. 

Day 7: A scene that made you cry

Obviously, lots. But the one that stands out in my mind right now is when Katniss breaks down when she is filming, right before when they decide to go on the rescue mission to the Capitol that eventually brings back Peeta, Johanna, and Annie. 

“In the end, the only person I truly want to comfort me is Haymitch, because he loves Peeta too.” 

Apart from it obviously being sad, I really liked it because the honesty of her feelings really touched everyone, and that’s why it was decided to go rescue them, even though it was very risky. It also showed Haymitch’s true feelings, the ones that no one but Katniss ever understood. And Finnick broke down too, after Katniss, which made it even more touching. 

Day 5: Your Favorite Fight/Battle Scene

This goes, without a doubt, to Haymitch’s victory during his Hunger Games.

Although it wasn’t much of a battle, it was definitely my favorite. It was short, and it wasn’t even a real thing, more of like a flashback. But those factors just make it much more intriguing and appealing. Above all, it shows the real Haymitch; not the drunk, useless mentor, but the smart and brave young man that defeated 47 other tributes and outsmarted the Capitol. 

Day 4: A Character You Love That Everyone Else Hates

I’m awarding this place to Gale. 

Every Peeta lover seems to hate Gale. I love Peeta, but I like Gale too. Gale has done so much for Katniss, sometimes I feel like even more than Peeta, that I think that Katniss should be more grateful towards him. He protected her family when she couldn’t; he kept them from starving when she was at her first games, and he took them out of District 12 when it was being bombed. And he also loved Katniss as much as Peeta did. Just because Katniss loved Peeta more than Gale, it doesn’t mean that Peeta loved Katniss more that Gale. Gale might not be as sweet as Peeta was, but he would have given his life for Katniss too. 

Day 3: A character you hate that everyone loves

Johanna. Johanna Mason.

I just didn’t like her right from the beginnning, and was surprise to hear that so many people actually like her, especially for “being such a badass”. Well, personally, I just think she feels insecure, and that’s why she acts that way, which is irritating. And I also hated the way she treated Beetee and Wiress, thinking them of a burden just for being old, when actually they were the treasure of the team. I’m just not very excited about her, that’s all.
